EEG Serenade

MUSE 2 + MAX + Ableton Live = Using EEG to compose music.

  • First, I think of you.

  • MUSE 2 detects electric activity in my head, sends data to Mind Monitor via bluetooth.

  • Mind Monitor relays the raw electrode data streams to MAX via OSC.

  • MAX receives the data, processes it, and “translates” it into MIDI notes.

  • Those MIDI notes play an instrument in Ableton.

  • Or is it the sound of your hello, that music I hear?
